Yawn….
Found some interesting magazine ad on Bloomberg Businessweek. Same advertisement spreading out on 3 different pages to build up the impact:
1. you are not sure what this is about (unless you read the fine prints), but you want some quality time with family.
2. For those who don’t have kids yet, you will get the babe… , or the sporty experience.
* Family, Babes and Sports, aren’t those the three major archetypes we often see on car commercials?
3. So there you go. A not-so-pretty collage sits in a lot of white space. Interesting enough, the designer decided to put the collage on the top of the page and leave the logo and white space at the lower part where you eyes were trained to stare at from the previous pages. The collage is busy and everybody knows what a Porsche look like (If not, you have seen enough from previous pages). So they really want you to pay attention to the title sealed with an official Porsche logo; a quick and sweet way to wrap up the story.
For people like me, who is not exactly a car fan, this was almost an a-ha moment.
To feed the four stomachs in my family, my parents often cook a large portion of food for dinner that would be plenty and the next days lunch box. Then we will transfer the food to a smaller container to fit into the fridge. Wouldn’t it be nice If there is technology available to produce bowls and plates that would adjust its volume by itself? It would not only save the water and power cleaning the extra plates but also a good amount of time and effort on cleaning and transferring.
